WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BARTENDER AND A MIXOLOGIST?

Whether you’ve been to a bar or restaurant lately or not, chances are you've heard these terms thrown around. But where exactly is the difference between a bartender and a mixologist? While their roles may be similar, there are some key distinctions that make the two different from each other. Let’s take a closer look.

The main responsibilities of a Bartender vs. a Mixologist

A bartender is typically responsible for taking orders, pouring drinks, stocking bar supplies, and ensuring customer satisfaction. A mixologist, on the other hand, goes above and beyond. They employ knowledge and spirits and cocktails to create unique flavor profiles and craft specialty drinks tailored to customer’s preferences. In addition to this, oftentimes they research new recipes and experiment with flavors in order to keep up with the current trends.

In addition to having extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages (and non-alcoholic ones as well!) Mixologists often use garnishes such as fresh fruit slices or herbs like mint leaves in order to enhance the aesthetics of their creations!

The Other Differences between Bartenders & Mixologists

Mixologists are seen as more than just drink makers– they’re artists who take pride in their work and strive for perfection every time they make something new. Thus, mixology has become an increasingly popular field among those looking for creative outlets within the food-service industry. With that being said however, bartenders still play an important role when it comes to providing great hospitality at bars and restaurants alike! After all, without them we would have no one to serve our favorite drinks!

At the end of the day both bartenders and mixologists are integral parrots of any great bar or restaurant experience because they both bring something unique to the table– literally! Bartenders provide friendly service while mixologists offer creative flair with their signature cocktail concoctions! So next time you’re out at your favorite watering hole, why not try one of these amazing concoctions crafted by talented mixologists? You won’t regret it!
